A Bit About Deb

I love interpreting a face into a cheery, cute caricature; a serious traditional portrait; a hand-cut classic silhouette; or even a full-figure, fun, artsy gesture drawing.

I consider myself a “high quality” quick sketch artist and an expressional engineer, with over 30 years of experience capturing people on paper all over the world.

Originally from Midland, Michigan, I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, double majoring in Spanish and Studio Art. During my college summers, I worked as an assistant manager and artist drawing portraits and caricatures at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio.

After graduating, I became a park manager, operating art and photo concessions at amusement parks in Colorado, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, and New York.

Today, I run my own business, Drawn By Deb, creating artwork at special events across the country, as well as art fairs and festivals throughout Michigan. I also offer live classroom demonstrations, art club presentations, and creative programs that give audiences a closer look at the art of quick sketch caricature and portrait work.
